The AWANA Club is just that... a Club. This program teaches our children to memorize scripture, learn to be team players through game play and to open their Bibles to seek answers. AWANA starts in September and finishes in June. AWANA Club is held on Sunday nights from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Children are divided in groups:
- CUBBIES is for 3 through 5 year old children
- SPARKS is for Kindergarten through 2nd grade children
- TRUTH & TRAINING is for 3rd through 5th grade children
Every child pays a $25 club fee ($20 for additional children), which covers the cost of the uniform (shirt or vest), handbook, and tote bag; and they should bring “dues” of .25 weekly. We have music, exciting games, handbook time, and story/lesson time with a light snack. Monthly we will have “Special Nights” such as “Crazy hair” night, “Pajama” night, “Bring a Friend” night, etc. These will be posted on the website and on the AWANA board in the old fellowship hall, so keep an eye out! There may be prizes awarded for those who participate!
As the children accomplish goals in their books, they are awarded badges and pins to go on their uniforms. Children are awarded AWANA Bucks for such things as wearing their uniform, bringing their Bible and Handbooks, good behavior, good sportsmanship, and serving others. What do they do with these Bucks? A few times a year, we open the “General Store”. In the “General Store” they can spend their Bucks on toys, Bibles, candy, games, etc.
If you are looking for something for your children to do on Sunday nights, come check us out. You can leave your child with us and join the rest of our church family in our Sunday night service from 6:30-7:30pm. To learn more about the AWANA Club, visit www.awana.org
