Our Stories

What is the church? To the outside world, the answer to that question might be “the place where Christians go to worship”. Scripture gives a very different definition of the church though. It is not the bricks, walls, and roof that we gather under, but a living organism. It is the collection of lives who God has called together to worship, work, live, and love together. The beautiful thing is that every church is unique because every person within the local body of believers that make it up is unique.

And we all have a story. Our stories are the same in one aspect, that just as scripture indicates we were all sinners who were in need of a savior and we find salvation through the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ and nothing else. The story of every believer is exactly that, but no two people have the exact same experience with God because He created each of us to be very unique with a specific plan, purpose, and hope for our lives. Sin has caused each of us to stray from that perfect plan in numerous ways, but through the grace offered to each of us through the cross, God found a way to save each of us. While the method of salvation is always the same, the path we take to find it and the journey we embark on with God is an experience that is completely unique to each one of us.

We all have a story. Every story is important. Every story needs to be told and heard because our stories prove the truthfulness of scripture and point to the saving power of Jesus Christ.
